My favorite musical style is rock. Choosing music to listen, I always pay attention to all aspects such as lyrics, rhythm and instrumental performance. Music created with heart and soul is always better than that created without emotions. For this reason, I like to watch live performances of my favorite rock bands. Only concerts can reveal the musical skills and feelings of musicians. Thus, another aspect that attracts me in rock music is quality. I like powerful guitar sound, thunder drums, hard bass, and impressive vocal that are typical for rock music. However, I always avoid listening to primitive rock bands because, as for me, music always has to make sense. I will not be impressed by a song which consists of one or two chords and a simple melody.
Additionally, rock music always grooves me. In other words, rock musicians succeed to transmit their thoughts, feelings and energy to me. My less favorite style of music is rap. It is hard to consider rap as music for several reasons. Firstly, it is the most primitive musical style because the melody remains the same during the whole track. Rap does not require great vocal skills; almost any person who has a clear diction is able to perform it. Music can be composed with a simple personal computer at home. Additionally, the lyrics of the most rap songs is about crimes, drugs and sex that obviously has a negative impact on society. It is difficult to understand people who like this music. However, undoubtedly, rap grooves people, and some songs are thought-provocative. Any musical style has exceptions. Actually, there are poor rock and rap songs, but there is something special in each style of music that can touch one's soul.
