So, I found a portal in time back to near the start of the Internet. Definitely brings back tons of memories and is a bit exciting to see.
It is very likely this site will be abandoned at some point in the future as no one adopts it, but an attempt must be made to keep it going. The appeal, to me, is a more blog centered format taking it back to the social media beginnings; being more of an open journal than the current dumpster fire state of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Etc. In my view those platforms have degenerated into a open melee of opinions the users heard from someone else and repeat at any opportunity in a quest to impress people they don't know or to just get a response in general. That may just be the natural course for any platform that hosts open interaction with the masses but, maybe not.
This site seems like a good way to give social media another chance. By taking it back to the beginning with the knowledge of what it can become, maybe social media can be great again.
Beyond just the potential of starting the whole shebang over again this site has tons of benefits. Embedding pictures and videos in posts, hyperlinks, CSS page customizations, way more customization in general, and anonymity if desired, are just a few things that have impressed me in the twenty minutes I've spent here. Seems good man.
Anyway, I imagine very few will see this, care, or join me, but if they do I hope they have fun and remember how cool the Internet once was.
