First things first I will say the new design did take one step in the right direction with dark mode, but still overall its worse than the original design. My issue with the site has to do with the scaling on it, the site is just a bit too big. I understand they were trying to make the site more responsive and mobile friendly, but when I am on desktop I want a desktop site not a mobile design. The other big issue is the more horizontal approach when it comes to displaying anime and episodes, before it was mostly vertical where you would scroll down now its more like vrv which makes it more annoying to find shows. My final problem has got to be how god awful the player is. The player in crunchyroll was already bad but now its even worse, and the fact that the site is so damn big like it has some accessibility setting on makes it annoying trying to have the player in windowed mode. So overall the new design is worse compared to the old design in my opinion, and its just so lazy. Nothing has really improved its just easier for grandmas to read. Only good thing was the dark mode in my opinion. Tbh the new beta site was unnecessary it just sounds like crunchyroll is too lazy to fix their old site design and make it better for mobile. The old site is perfectly fine in terms of looks its just a bit broken.
No commentsYes I still use an outdated javascript library since I hate writing javascript. Jquery is old as shit, but it still works and is 10 times easier when it comes to coding. Believe me I tried to code ajax in vanilla JS and I had an aneurism trying to code it. "Oh but obamas cock why not use any other library or framework?" No damn it I like the simplicity of jquery it's literally meant for smooth brains thats why its so popular. Literally probably 60 percent of the web runs off jquery mainly because its so easy to implement and its hard to change. Plus I hate js, its absolutely annoying to use.
No commentsPhp is probably my favorite backend language, but I think the one issue that php faces is scalability. Php is very hard for giant projects, now sure you can use a framework like Laravel to try to make php code more scalable, but the issue with using a framework is reusing code for like trying to combine it with other languages. Php as a language though is very useful for backend development at a quick pace, but I feel the scope of using php backend isnt worth the ease of use. I still use php and will continue to use it, but Im trying to grasp javascript more so I can transition to something like node.js for speed. Of course php lately is still realy fast I mean since php 7 php has been faster than python backends, and it will continue to improve. People who say php sucks still seem to think we are in the days where we would escape every string with php 5. But php isnt just as efficient when it comes to server logic like node.js or even maybe an aging language like java. The only chance php has for largescale projects is to transpile code into C with hiphop or some type of translation where you take php code and output a more efficient backend language. Now that doesn't mean php is bad for like database management with SQL, but Im talking more about making a social network with php. Most social networks don't use php as much as they do, facebook for example was built pretty much solely on html-css and mysql with php has now pretty much translated all the php code to C++. Most social networks now use some type of python, ruby, or js. Php is just not good for social networking, can it be done of course it can, is it efficient maybe not. Php can definitely run a decent sized social network like what we have here with myspace.windows93 and it can get big, but overtime it will just not be worth it with the headaches you will have to deal with.
No commentsBro I will admit I am a soydev I use fucking Atom to edit code its probably the only text editor I use. The only other thing I use is pycharm as an ide, and mysql on the terminal.
1 commentOldtwitter my classic twitter clone was dumped, but I am working on a new original social network. Something original and actually designed by me. When will it be out idk there is a shit ton of debugging and scripting to do still. I have the basic login/register and profile system but a few things I am working on are in the process it will probably be hosted on the old https://oldtwitter.xyz domain when its ready.
No commentsAdding every user as your friend on this site is a little bit out of fashion I used to have over 500 friends and probably would have been at a thousand if I continued to add people but I thought why add a bunch of people who I don't know or will never interact with so I deleted them all who i add now mostly peeple whos profiles are cool
No commentsI understand its need and use especially for mobile and portable devices or Samsung fridges, but I always think its so tedious trying to code for mobile then desktop. Thats probably why if I ever do frontend development that requires some type of mobile proofing I use bootstrap framework or just use media queries.
1 commentI was just trying to remember something really important and then all of a sudden I thought of the gokus sacrifice theme from the falcouner score of dbz. Funny I couldn't recall what I was trying to remember but I can recite entire scenes from Dragonball and remember the fucking songs from it.
