oh no i don't have a problem w capitalism myself but ive seen other people saying stuff like "let's just cancel christmas it's only for milking money" or sumn

I don't see how capitalism is a bad thing. Modern advancments to technology have been made due to capitalism. There is a difference between mixed market and a command economy. Even 'socialist' nordic countries have a private sector.
to be fair, the spirit of Christmas is giving, it's just that unfortunately the holiday in general has been over-consumerized.
there's also religious connotations associated with it, but the overall idea doesn't require a belief in a higher power-- just to take time to build on connections.
