Noriko is the daughter of famous space captain Yuzo Takaya, who had disappeared in the Luxion disaster of 2015. She enrolled in Okinawa High School for Girls so that she could become a space pilot like her father, and later on was chosen for the Gunbuster project despite her lack of piloting ability. Usually calm, sweet tempered and often insecure, Noriko turns to a real fury when she's fighting with the Gunbuster: in the key moments of the adventure she always knows what to do, she becomes self confident and very determined in achieving her goals. A real leader.

would 100% recommend them both! flcl is a great OVA, and eva's legacy speaks for itself; i'd also recommend otaku no video and gurren lagann, they're both a lot of fun. kimagure orange road looks so charming! can't believe i hadn't heard of it before, definitely gonna add it to my watchlist
