A24 horror movies are pretty popular right now in that they're all really fucking good, maybe you could talk about those??
i think Us or Get Out would be interesting to talk about bc of how they deal with racism and classism :) theyre also just really good movies
Cannibal Holocaust, the first Texas Chainsaw, Saw, you could look at how each of these movies kept pushing the movie industry into darker and more morbid places. When Cannibal Holocaust released it shocked and continues to shock audiences for how violent it is, and it has been such an important movie in the history of horror that that might be an interesting movie to look at. Look at foreign films like suspiria, kairo, or ju-on, those are all massive genre defining movies that still affect movies today. I

also you could maybe watch some bad horror movies to showcase how difficult it can be to make a good horror movie, i recommend watching "the curse of la llorona" (absolute shit-show) and "a nightmare on elms street (2010)" [jesus christ i was dying laughing, terrible film]
