ok so ever since like 2017, ive been very into the idea of scenecore and webcore revival. it was what i was into the last time my brain produced serotonin properly, so ive always latched onto it as a nostalgia thing. when i was in my hard scene phase in 2013, myspace was already far gone from its glory (the form this means to duplicate.) and in its void, i constantly searched for what could scratch this itch the best. soemo, scenekids dot com (now ginpop. bad.), friendproject, etc, nothing really hit it quite right. it was less about the literal scene and emo niche and more about the way i felt back then on the internet. free. excited. true to myself.

the closest ive had to duplicating it was friendproject, but at the time i was on it, it was entirely dead. i checked it recently to be pleasantly surprised by an influx of users, and also slight confusion by a "knowing god" link in the top bar. that isnt related, just strange. i mean maybe thats what you need on a myspace clone. what do i know.

the closest ive had to the level of customization i desire, in a home page at least, was neocities. its a tribute site to geocities and similar sites like angelfire. webcore fans know, im sure. the thing with that was that, while it was pretty active, it was isolated pages, not a platform. also given that it was purely just websites coded from the ground up, it was mostly people who were actually good at it. im looking to major in web development in the future, but at current, i pee my pants and cry every time i try to clean up the wrapping on my div containers.

this looks to have both of the things i desire to an extent. im not the biggest fan of markdown over like. letting us go buckwild with an html box, but i understand it.

hopefully this sticks w me and i get used to using it :D maybap.
